TOOLS FOR EVERY WEEKEND PROJECT

Tool Rental for Homeowners and DIY Projects in the Tri-Cities

The right tool turns a long weekend into a Saturday afternoon. Since 1962, East Tenn Rent-Alls has helped Tri-Cities homeowners tackle the projects on their list without buying a garage full of equipment they will use twice. Rent professional-grade tools for the job, get a lesson at the counter, and bring it all back when the work is done.

WHY ETRA

Rent the Tool, Keep the Savings

A quality pressure washer, tiller, or floor sander costs hundreds of dollars to own, plus off-season storage, maintenance, and repairs. Renting flips the math. You pay for the days you actually use the tool, it arrives serviced and ready, and when the project ends it goes back on our shelf instead of taking up space in yours. For most homeowner projects, renting professional-grade equipment costs less than buying the consumer-grade version, and the job goes faster too.

What Are You Working On?

Browse by project and you will usually find that one or two rentals cover the whole job. Not sure what a project calls for? Describe it at the counter and our team will build the list for you.

Pressure Washing and Deck Refinishing

Summer is prime time to bring the outside of your home back to life. Rent a pressure washer for siding, driveways, and fences, then pair a sander and a paint sprayer to take a tired deck from gray to great in a single weekend.

Lawn and Landscape Overhauls

Aerators, tillers, dethatchers, and sod cutters give you a professional-grade lawn renovation for a fraction of a landscaping bid. Taking out a dead tree or an overgrown corner? Stump grinders and chippers finish what the chainsaw starts.

Fences, Decks, and Post Setting

One- and two-person augers make quick, uniform work of post holes, and a rented concrete mixer keeps the pour moving. What takes a clamshell digger all day takes an auger about an hour.

Floors and Interior Updates

Rent a floor sander to revive scuffed hardwood, plus the edgers and vacuums that make the finish look professional. Painting? A rented sprayer coats walls and ceilings in a fraction of roller time.

Moving, Hauling, and Cleanup

Appliance dollies, hand trucks, and trailers take the strain out of moving day and post-project cleanup. Protect your back and your doorframes at the same time.

Not Sure What You Need? That Is What the Counter Is For

At a box store rental desk, you get whatever is left on the rack and a laminated instruction card. At ETRA, you get people who run, service, and repair this equipment every day. Tell us the project and we will match the machine to it, show you how to operate it safely, and send you home with the right accessories the first time. Our certified technicians inspect and service every tool between rentals, so what you pick up works like it should.

Homeowner Tool Rental FAQs

Do I need experience to rent power equipment?

No. Our team walks every customer through safe operation before the tool leaves the store, and we are a phone call away if a question comes up mid-project.

How long can I keep a rental?

Rental periods are flexible, from short-term weekend rentals to long-term arrangements for bigger projects. Tell us your timeline and we will quote the period that fits.

Is renting really cheaper than buying?

For tools you use once or twice a year, almost always. You skip the purchase price, storage, winterizing, and repairs, and you get commercial-grade performance instead of the entry-level model.

What should I bring to rent a tool?

A valid driver’s license and payment. If the equipment needs a trailer or truck to transport, ask when you reserve and we will help you plan the pickup, or arrange delivery for larger machines.

Do you sell tools and equipment too?

Yes. ETRA is an authorized dealer for Bobcat, Stihl, Gravely, and more, with new and used equipment sales plus parts and certified service, so if a rental convinces you to own one, we can help with that too.
